Microsoft has revealed the roadmap for the support of IE11 in the coming months and year, and it clearly states that IE11 will no longer be supported by Microsoft 365 from August 17th, 2021 onwards. Also, from March 09,2021 onwards Windows 10 will no longer support Microsoft Edge legacy browser and should be replaced by the new Chromium based Edge browser instead.

Microsoft has already stated that ‘Microsoft Edge has SmartScreen built-in and has the highest-rated phishing and malware protection as measured by two independent studies.’

What it means for the current business users?

Microsoft has offered help with App Assure. The company has stated that their old apps and websites which worked on IE 11 will work on the new Microsoft Edge browser. If not, they can contact App Assure for remediation support or by email (ACHELP@microsoft.com).
